Paige joined Association Reserves in 2012 after graduating from California Lutheran University with a Masters degree in Business Administration. A native of Colorado, she obtained a BS in Business Marketing from the University of Northern Colorado. Her undergraduate education also included a semester at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. Paige worked in numerous advertising and marketing capacities while attending college. In her role at Association Reserves, Paige serves as the “face” of Association Reserves, promoting our company image and expertise in markets where Reserve Study services are needed and utilized. Her experience with trade show operations, her knowledge of business, and her marketing passion and creativity makes her an excellent addition to our team and an asset to our clients.

A registered professional engineer, Robert has been involved in the Community Association industry since 1982. Robert founded Association Reserves, Inc. in 1986 and has pioneered many widely used reserve funding concepts. For his expertise, he earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #5. Robert was involved in creating the 1998 National Reserve Study Standards and has greatly influenced the Reserve Study industry. He is a past Chairman of CAI’s Reserve Professionals Committee, past Chairman of the Association of Professional Reserve Analysts, and past President of the Community Association’s Institute (CAI) Greater Los Angeles Chapter. Robert regularly writes on the topic of Reserve Studies and is a frequent speaker in industry-sponsored seminars and presentations throughout the United States. He is often called to serve as an expert witness in litigation involving reserve issues.

Cathy Schrader helped co-found Association Reserves in 1986. A registered professional engineer, Cathy designed all of the company’s administrative, production, marketing, and hiring processes. She currently serves as the company’s Director of Marketing & Communications. Prior to forming Association Reserves, Cathy worked for Rockwell International in their Energy Technology Engineering Center and then owned and operated a property management company. She was awarded a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University.
DJ Vlaming, R.S. graduated from California State University, Northridge with a business degree in 1996 and started working at Association Reserves shortly thereafter. He has been responsible for the growing Arizona client base since 1997. DJ has completed over 2,000 Reserve Studies for properties ranging from simple developments with minimal assets to complex international resorts. For his expertise, he earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #61. From this office, he is able to serve Arizona and New Mexico clients full-time, including large master planned communities in the Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque metropolitan areas. DJ has expanded his reach into Mexico, and he has prepared Reserve Studies for large timeshare resorts and communities in Rocky Point, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Cancun. DJ is an active member of multiple CAI chapters and the Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM).
Kevin joined Association Reserves, Inc. in 2013 after graduating from California Lutheran University with a BS in Business Administration. He has since worked with a wide range of community associations nationwide. His experience includes condominiums and homeowners’ associations ranging from 4 unit condos to 1,000+ unit PUDs. For his expertise, Kevin earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #294. He enjoys the demands of this job which require him to think critically through situations as well as to communicate clearly with clients, in order to bring clarity to Reserve planning and disclosure.
Sean joined Association Reserves, Inc. in 2003 after graduating from Cal State Northridge. He has since completed over 1,800 Reserve Studies for a wide range of properties including condominiums, luxury timeshare resorts, high-rises, schools, libraries, public municipal facilities, and religious facilities. For his expertise, he earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #115. His Reserve Study experience includes projects across the lower-48 States, as well as abroad, including Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Thailand, Macau, and Dubai.

Sean graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1998 and started working at Association Reserves in 1999. He opened our regional office in Orange County in 2003. Sean has completed over 2,000 Reserve Studies for properties ranging from small community associations to large master planned communities. He earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #68. Sean is an active member of the CAI Orange County chapter. Sean has also been an instructor on the subject of Reserves for training courses offered by CAI.
Matthew joined Association Reserves in 2005, just prior to completing his Bachelors of Science in Physics at California Lutheran University. His background, which gave him a wide range of knowledge in mathematics, statistics, electronics, and fluid dynamics, has been a benefit to clients as he models complex physical and financial change at a wide range of properties. For his expertise, Matthew earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #134. Matthew caters to a host of urban mid- & high-rises as well as beach-front resorts while also maintaining a strong portfolio of suburban North County PUDs to rural East County HOAs. Matthew is recognized as a leading educator of Reserve topics through seminars at local management firms as well as Masters-level real estate courses conducted through San Diego State University.

Derek joined Association Reserves in 2004 with a degree in Business Management from California State University, Northridge. During his tenure with our firm, Derek has traveled extensively to serve residential, resort, and business clients throughout the United States. For his expertise, Derek earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #114. Derek is also a certified Professional Reserve Analyst (PRA). In 2007, Derek took on full responsibility for overseeing our San Francisco regional office, which has quickly expanded to meet the needs of all Bay Area clients. A combination of physical, financial, and staffing expertise has honed Derek’s ability to work with teams of decision-makers, within budget limitations, to accomplish significant repair & replacement projects.

Bryan joined Association Reserves in 2011 after graduating from Pepperdine University with a BS in Business Administration. He brought with him experience in general contracting, carpentry, as well as media design. Bryan has since completed over 1,500 Reserve Studies and earned the Community Associations Institute (CAI) designation of Reserve Specialist (RS #260). His experience includes all types of condominium and homeowners’ associations throughout the United States, ranging from international high-rises to historical monuments.

Will Simons, RS, EBP joined the Association Reserves team in 2008 after spending time in the insurance and commercial real estate fields. He has since completed or overseen more than 1,800 Reserve Studies and earned the Community Associations Institute (CAI) designation of Reserve Specialist (RS #190). He is also a Florida-licensed Continuing Education Provider (#0005433) for Community Association Managers. Will’s experience includes all types of condominium and homeowners’ associations throughout the southeastern United States. His clients have ranged from modern, luxury high-rises to homeowners’ associations representing thousands of homes. Will has also provided Reserve Studies for many timeshare/fractional properties, resorts, schools, marinas, country clubs, historic properties, and commercial developments. A frequent author and speaker on the subject of Reserve planning, he also served as the Treasurer and Vice President of his own HOA for six years, representing a community of over 600 homes with a budget exceeding $1 million. Will holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Raised in the Northern Virginia area, Ian has a full appreciation for the vagaries of the east coast climate & weather conditions, resulting in accurate assessments made during site inspections. A resident of Charlotte, he serves the growing list of clients in and around the Carolina and mid-Atlantic region. Ian looks forward to preparing Reserve Studies that are easy to understand so that Board members and Managers can use them to make wise financial decisions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from James Madison University.
Jim began with Association Reserves in 1997, as a field representative, then opening the regional office in 2001. Under his leadership, the Washington team has reached the significant milestone of 10,000 completed reserve studies, serving a wide range of facilities and interests in the Pacific Northwest. A resident of Washington since 1978, he has more than 30 years of experience in Reserve Study preparation, custom home construction, and real estate valuation. Jim earned the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Reserve Specialist designation, having the distinction of being RS #66 across the United States. He is a former board member of the Washington Chapter of CAI, and current author, speaker, and educator. A strong advocate for consumer protections, he served for eleven years on the CAI Legislative Action Committee (LAC), ending as co-chair. As a member of the LAC, Jim reviewed proposed legislation affecting community associations, and co-authored bills during the 2008, 2009 & 2011 sessions that were ultimately written into law. Outside of the office, Jim is an avid jazz bassist, and loves boating, snowboarding and travel.
